Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition affecting more than 10,400 people in the UK. CF affects a gene that controls the movement of salt and water around the body which causes a build-up of mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs. Which leads to a wide range of challenging symptoms affecting the entire body. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust fund and support cutting edge research to find new and better treatments for CF which can dramatically improve the lives of sufferers along with extending the lives of more serious sufferers. This charity is particularly close to one member of the team who has a very close friend who has suffered with CF all of their life and has seen first-hand the benefit of what the new drugs coming forward has given to sufferers.
